Purpose of the Center for Career Development and Employment
Center for Career Development and Employment as a part European College of Kosovo structure it started its function in 2015 with the aim to strengthen students choice for education and their professional career by observing their skills, values , faith and their life goals. Center for Career Development and Employment offer a better approach for students in their labor market by improving their quality of education and supporting and encouraging their potential development in order to influence the society.
The function and activities of Office for Career Development and Employment
The function and responsibilities of office for career development and employment includes providing career advices for every student, an opportunity to develop further through: Practical work (traineeship), Professional trainings, study visits, consultations and negotiations to work. Students of European College of Kosovo are provided with a wide range and opportunities for trainings, internships and information’s about job vacancies, study visits and ongoing support toward employment opportunities.
Trainings aim to develop the skills of students for employment by providing assistance in the development of self-employment or ideas for preparing and increase their skills for research and employment. On average a student of the European College of Kosovo has the opportunity to follow up to 10 trainings for free, from the day they become part of the ECK until the day of graduation.
Internship Program (Practical work) enables student’s access to the best known companies national institutions in the country. ECK students who have expressed interest and have completed the application procedure has the opportunity for practical work up 6 months.
Study visits are conducted each semester to offer the chance to connect theoretical learning with practical learning. Visits in companies, institutions, factories and meetings with directors and managers offer an opportunity to learn the students about the differences and similarities between the classroom and the reality on the labor market.
The institutional support that ECK offers for his students is of particular importance. Informing students about job vacancies on a weekly basis, partnership with international and local institutions, providing space for the development of projects and specific programs, preparation of CV and phase of interview and negotiation for student employment are just some of the main forms in which student has the full support of the European College of Kosovo.
International transfers obviously are one of the most important aspects of the European College of Kosovo. Providing opportunities for transfer to the best international universities in places such as Barcelona, Geneva, Munich, Montreux, Ljubljana, Varna, Istanbul and New York are just some of the current options offered for ECK students.
